Club Services did not have quite a successful quarter as compared to the previous one. We had a handful number of events lined up for the period January – March, but only a few were successful.
The main activities which were penciled for this quarter were the Rotalympics, a social and of course working on mentorship, club wear and club subscriptions.
The Rotalympics, Olympic Games for Rotaract clubs were set to be held on the 8th of March 2013. The event was expected to involve all Rotaract clubs and Rotarians in Harare. With just over a month to prepare for such a monumental event we had a mammoth task ahead. Unfortunately, due to our limited resources (commitment, communication and time), the event never materialized.
Mentorship has not been going as well as it was in the last quarter. In the last quarter we had three inductions and this year, none at all. At the beginning of the year, we had seven people on the list, but only two remain now and are due for induction. We have had more guests coming in and out during the quarter. Special mention is Derrick Chiutsi, who has been participating in almost every activity in our club. We are hoping to have him inducted as soon as his mentorship is complete.
We had planned to list all members owing subscriptions however, we postponed our actions after the new club treasurer Cindy Gugodo did exactly the same thing the following week (thumbs up for Cindy).
